gawd, last night was a horrible night to sleep in. i just couldn't get to sleep at all even though it was nearly 4am. the thoughts just kept running through my head refused to let up. damn it. and i badly wanted to get some rest.

so i decided to breathe in and breathe out and focus on only taking that breathe in and then that breathe out. and it didnt work.

so sucks for me.

little black butterflies, deep inside me
today felt like a really short day where many many things just kept happening and my feelings kept changing. it felt like i just rushed through today, and finally back at home, i finally managed to catch my breathe and reflect on all that's happened.

firstly, for all those who wondered how Celebrating the Family turned out, it was GOOD! =) I would love to say a huge thank you for all those lovely friends who specially came down to support this humble 'albeit pretty huge deal for us' event of nuSTUDIOS. Everybody enjoyed the two short films, and judging from the audience reactions during both screenings, i could tell that they were engaged and were pleased. And the post-screening discussion was pretty lively with the audiences really interested in finding out more about how CASHLESS was made. and that really translated (to me that is) that these audiences were surprised at the quality of the film produced. honestly, this was the first time i watched CASHLESS in its entirety (i seen and heard parts of it soooo many times during it's post production in studios while derek and melinda were hard at work editing it) Well, during post, whatever parts I saw, I always secretly thought how the 35mm adaptor really added to telling the story visually. The ability to create that depth instantly gave the characters/objects more significance and made them pop out. And of course, it upp aesthetic-value. And of course, the directors put heart into the little details in set design in creating this world and that was something i really respect! Especially films with a limited budget!

okayy. enough abt it. i could go on and on, and it will sound nearly like publicity esp. since i'm pres.

anyhow, i got to meet senior studio members who has gone off to work and it felt so nice. It's been such a long time since I've met some of them. And it just felt like before, talking rubbish, supportive talk, being stupid, updating abt studios stuff. jian is back! hahaha. finally hes back. and i saw him, so it's for real! its so nice actually talking to him, because it was quite difficult to talk to him on gmail, and hes hardly online! so updates and stuff so it was GOOD. =) and i was so glad to see him i had to suppress hugging him out of joy. mostly because i've been so stressed being P, and although derek and melinda were always so patient and helpful they were so busy too (working and doing cashless), so now thank you hes back. i can consult him easily and not thru gmail!! sigh. thank you thank you hes back.

and. before the event, it was kinda stressful and stuff, with some hiccups which were eventually fixed thankfully. but still, the road to the event was pretty disappointing. it was reflected to me, and i understood it, but i was falsely (strangely) optimistic about how it would be done as the deadline was approaching. i did nag (maybe it was too tacit) and i guess the pt was not put across strongly enough. i was truly disappointed three mornings ago, and this morning that feeling kinda turned into disgust. but then now that i reached the end of the day and am in a reflective state, i realised that i probably was more disappointed and disgusted at myself, for not being an effective pusher. push people, push for deadlines, push people to be more conscious, push push push people to be and do their best. i guess i never believed in deadlines or timetables before being in exco, and i'm a really slow learner, and hence i'm poor at enforcing deadlines. but now, i just hope i havent learnt my lesson too late.

and of course a lot of how i felt today can be attributed to redbull (which really perked me up) and adrenaline, and all the nervousness involved in having to do the simple simple opening. i've probably done that exact opening like 4-5 times on stage (and like a 100 times in practice) but somehow, everything leaks out of my brain when im thrown in the spotlight. it's something i know i can't fight that's why i always have to carry that piece of paper to help me remember everything i nid to spill. i decided (since my unfortunate south asian tutorial last year) that im just not very smart and i guess that's how stupid people fail in life. to their own nerves. hah. well, at the very least, im actually getting better at it? according to aikhoe at the first session, and shingkae on the second session, i was better. aikhoe's exact words were 'you were very composed! you were definitely not yaya as when u were emceeing for NAF' (what's yaya?) and SK was like 'aye good good, better than treatment (which was the NAF event)' :) thanks.

oh.. and during the two sessions, it was amusing to me how people all laughed at the exact same parts (which is gratifying for the filmmakers and scriptwriters and actors, im sure) and other than those who laugh at every part of course. in the second session, i actually laughed after the audience laughed because i found it funnier that they were laughing at the exact same parts pple laughed at the earlier session (and because i've already seen it once before already).

and at the end of the day, my mom was drinking at supperclub, and my friends were heading to dbl 0. and me, i really wanted to drink too (peer influence huh). but luckily i didnt i guess. today was a day i think i really like having my mind clear. and im poor. dudley and i chilled/ate at this hk cafe at thompson and it was nice =) so much for wanting to lose weight. i ate that peanut butter thick toast and drank milk tea with chinchow. horrible. but ya, i guess i wanted to needed some comfort fooood :)

and i'm craving to cook some food nowadays. i decided that bread and cereal everyday is not nutritious enough, and im sick of eating outside food. AND THOSE STUPID TV PROGRAMMES ON CHANNEL 5 during my brunches that make cooking look so darn yummy and easy. DAMN IT. i intend to cook myself a meal soon. yes i will.

i will be a pusher and a cooking monster. (shit. the ringtone must be getting to me)

btw i wanna share two songs that my heart is skipping to:

the way i am

what's TGIF? oh how i love this feeling
Bro.a.dc.ast .a.si.a isnt a good idea ever. (it's this like 'exclusive' IT fair sorta thing, where we can preview, purchase equipment such as cameras, lights, sounds stuffs.)

firstly, it is held in the expo. so it's so faraway. so i had to like prepare to get out EXTRA early. and since there was no bus, i had to seat an mrt, so that meant having to take a bus to change at an mrt to go.

secondly, it's for trade visitors only, so i decided that i had to dress up at LEAST semi formal or something right? so to even get dressed up took me forever, because nothing in my cupboard looked vaguely appropriate. everything was in bright colours and skirts that were too short, otherwise i had to wear ugly dark baggy jeans. so to help me, i googled dress codes and settled on black slacks for bottoms and a beige top. okay good. that was decided upon after trying on dozens of clothes. and then i decided to skip the jacket.

then i was starving cos i hadnt eaten, so i popped two pieces of bread i found in the fridge into the oven, and to make it a little easier to eat, i added cheese and seaweed. it didnt taste that great really. if only we had some tomatoes in the empty empty bleak fridge. so then i was finally done and ready to roll. i rolled out of the house, and it started drizzling a little. nevermind, it's only slight and i wont melt. THEN halfway to the bus stop it started pouring like madddd and so i had to run to the bus stop and when i got there i was all drenched. SUCKSSSSS. and then while shivering with cold in the busstop, and thinking of my jacket (and also very kindly reminded by wonderbraaa), i realised that i all the buses i would have taken to my grandma's place were coming when i didnt want them to, and none of the buses i could take were coming! =( annoying. and my eyes stung like mad because my sun block melted into my eyes (cos of the bloody rain)

okay, so long story cut short, i got there in one piece and the show itself was alright. just basically walking around, having fun. then went over to com.mun.i.ca.si.a and meet up with ADE! =) so exciting, then she gave me orange juice. haha. and then we talked and talked till she mentioned that there were free thumbdrives being given out by LG so i was like OKAY I NEED THUMBDRIVE YAY so we walked over and then i got a rubiks cube instead. =\ then i met back together with colin and yoga, and we headed to samsung booth to check out their handphones and the lodes of pretty girls in small tight dresses who stood around teaching you how to use their phones.

THEN OMGGGG LARRRR.. samsung booth was like the ONLY place where they had a special super reflective black flooring (to match their handphone and sleek decor i suppose) , so when you look at the floor under any of the girls there, you were looking up the skirts?!? and there were tons of man who just stood around talking to the girls and asking for their numbers. sleeeazey.

but my eyes were still stinging then that i didnt have a good look up anyones skirts. i did take some photos with humungous iphones, samsung phones and walking blackberries. =) and then i bought some mr bean cakes for my grandma, and i think that made her happy and i really feel like today wasnt too bad after all. =)

busy busy like a bee
1.) so i've just been busy publicising and readying for an upcoming nuSTUDIOS event, Celebrating The Family to my friends.
2.) and then i've been trying to learn a little photoshop!! =) IM SO DAMN PROUD OF THEM OKAYYY. HERE YOU GO. The bigger one is made as a background for my laptop, and the other is just a polaroid tutorial that I thought would be easy to just follow and learn on the way, BUT it took me one whole day to do until sk saved me. and so i just slotted ANY photo i had in alright.. but please instead of saying how ugly the photo is, focus on reveling that sabrina has learnt a little basic photoshop! i love doing collages so this is like so much more convenient without the whole need to use glue and cut stuff.

what else have i been up to. i've been playing l4d with dudley. FUN FUN GAME. I'm reminded of JC days when my class (and form teacher, and occasionally our econs teacher) used to troop down to a lan shop after school to play CS and BF2.

oh and yesterday dudley and i watched MONSTERS VS ALIENS. and ITs aassss funny as hellllll.. MUST WATCHHH. it's so freaking funny. I was mildly disappointed that character 'the missing link' was not as funny as he could have been. I mean, his name got me rofl, then why was he not funny in the show! I loved the blue blob character. He was SO DUMB yet he thinks hes smart attitude tickles the usual funny spots, and the cute factor was from the really humungous insectizaurus or sth. ITS SO CUTEEEEE.

so damn proud of my friends

esp Colin and Smint who has worked really hard buff up our website. =P Very exciting indeed.

Anyway, meanwhile i have been just surfing the WWW. and checking out pretty faces pretty places.

today, i just mostly spent the day playing guitar. learning, relearning, reworking on stuff i already learnt. it was pretty fun. made me happy. i feel happy at home. i feel mostly undisturbed and happy. but i wish this 'personal vacation' wasnt so short. well, at least i know that i dont have to runaway to another country to feel better about things. at home alone with a guitar is pretty good stand-in for the time being.

and i was promised a rainbow

my heart is as dark as the soil sodden with winter rains
my soul is as heavy as the peat freshly dug from the bog
my thoughts swirl like willow branches caught in autumn winds
my body is as tense as a cat's as it stalks its prey

attending to my big fat headache
wello wello,
today was a pretty long dayyy (felt esp that way since i had a headache as if someone was grabbing me at the back of my head the whole time)
1.) I went to sungei buloh with dudley to take photos. it's quite an experience taking photos of nature. i looked through the photos just now, it wasnt that great but check it out on fb when i upload it! as with many photo-taking trips, there are SOME that are quite nice and im proud of them. haha.
2.) then we went to triple d at bencoolen and it's SO AWESOME! it was a humble little shop but there were many coolio cameras there! and even the cute ikimono camera. and they had prettier designs! i got one for dudley, but they didnt sell the film. so all he can do right now is like look at it i guess. BUT OMG THEY HAD OTHER CAMERAS TOO. BLACKBIRD FLY TLR, IKIMONO WITH FLASH UNIT, FUJIFILM POLAROID CAMERA (not the mini instax one), and they had holgassssss and like holga lenses. omg. dreammmm i shall start my little toy cameras collections =) and they had all these photos on their wall (taken with holgas i guess) and it was ALL SO INSPIRING@!!!
3.)then i had a big fat headache. but it sorta cured when i was walking past the pet store which occasionally have cats at the window. COS the cat was so adorable!!! it got super excited when it saw me and nearly fell off the catstand it was on just to try to get to me. then it started rubbing itself furiously on the scratchstand. =) then the headache kinda dissipated a little. =)
4.) trimmed and painted my nails a delicious chocolate pink. it looks so damn good so that's a real cheer-up.

nice nails is always a good pick-me-up. i totally understand why the girls in legally blonde love going to do mani and padis when they are depressed.

yesterday was a b'awesome day too. hung out with michelle and adeline for nearly the whole day. i had a headache too, but it was quite fun. getting disgusted at this guy at cotton on, walking around top shop: ade getting 'persuasively' convinced into buying one more item she didn't need, ade being infatuated with this pair of awesome purple shoes, at diva trying on tons of accessories and laughing our ass off every item, eating lots and lots of ciabatta for lunch, getting high on mocktails, acting real retarded in borders and finally visiting michelle's beautiful new home! it's the nicest apartment ever!! so cosy and it had this little balcony/patio. and i brought home like this whole stack of archie comics.

i believe i nid a massage.

the secret life of seahorses
HAHAHA nah im not gonna talk about secret lives or seahorses. but what a cute title aint it.

yesterday was awesome, watched Night at the Museum 2 with sweetie. It wasnt that great. rahr, there were many funny individual scenes and dialogues but somehow it managed to feel really draggy at many parts hence making the show quite boring till something funny arrives.

anyhow! The latest talkshow episode is up on fifo already and i have put a link on my fb so do go and watch it! =)

The after natm2, i met up with ellen and we went window shopping. we are BOTH REALLY EXCITED. =P how is shopping ever boring!

okay but most imptly, my mom's birthday is tmr. what shld i get her!

oh nice. i got a secret admirer.
Beverley Knehans to me
show details 12:15 PM (1 hour ago)

OK! so i've been thinking about me and you for awhile. Sorry if all this seems weird to you, just imagine how i feel right now. we have known each other for awhile now and i think me and you both know what's up between us. even thought i know this will ruin our friendship, i know that this is what i want. i am so sorry i have to tell you like this but i don't think i have the guts to tell you in person. i'm pretty sure you know who i am by now. i'm at work right now so message me on linkdater.com i'm under the name "solucky77".

----------------------------------------------------

anyway, nuSTUDIOS is having an event at The Arts House and I'd very much appreciate if any of you would buy a tix and come for it! It's $8 and there will be two shorts from nuSTUDIOS being screened. The dates are 20th and 27th June (4pm and 8pm). So there are like 4 screenings. I will be there on the 20th one because 27th is the start of Arts Camp. Depends lar. but yar please come down. msg meeeee. please pleaes please.

one thing that pisses me off is that i abhor it when anybody insults any of my friends. when they insult my friend in front of me, it's as good as insulting me because i only share time with people whom i love and respect. sucks.

happy post
today was pretty eventful.

i woke up and spent the morning emailing studios stuff and then guitaring. strumming pop songs and singing like no one is watching would always feel so good. (don't ever expect me to perform)

then,

I met up with aaron for lunch, I haven't seen him in AGES! and then we headed to tania's place to hang for a bit. joei was at her place too. so it was so funky seeing them! it was a really nice change. seeing ac guitar people again (apt isn't it. with my infatuation with the guitar of recent). i was so exhilarated to see them since it really was ages since i met up with anyone from the past on intent. and it was all so impromptu. =))

today i went to studios for a meeting. it was so fun. i don't rmb meetings being so fun. smint brought lots of food and that must have lightened everyone up. even the interview was so funky, especially because we were interviewing yoga for editing head position and he's almost like family already so it was hardly serious.. the meeting ended near 7, and i had to check out and edit the latest talkshow episode. so i ended up ps-ing my grandma whom i promised to visit and dinner with tonight. hopefully she aint too mad about it. i felt bad. esp since shes so old already, and i shld spend as much time as i can with her.

then marcus seng passed me his phone again, thankfully. oh, my razr sucks big time. im gonna have to send it down for a little knocking again. sigh.

and my mom's bday is in two days. what should i get her.

ECP and random happy stuff
yesterday, had the most wonderful outing with dudley and my secondary school mates at ECP; cycling and just having a lot of fun. I can't believe i haven't met up with them sooner! After meeting them I realised how much i missed them and qt! =) we cycled, and then it started to pour, so we hid near some ribena show (for the new ribena+lemon flavour) and shimei's jc mates were working as the mascots and the product pushers, so we headed there to play the games and take photos. anyhow, i played the game, and i got really lucky since i won 6 ribena handphone holders. it was pretty cool mainly because the game masters were prety shocked at the no. of sequences i got. (every 3 similar cards u get in a row you get 1 ribena holder.) unusual since i am normally unlucky with games.

Anyhow, dudley learnt how to cycle at ECP! and he took only a mere 2 hours! pretty awesome. i remember taking half a day to get the guts to cycle without someone holding on to my bike. but once u get it, the feeling is addictive.

another awesome thing is that Dudley got me several pretty gifts from the states, and one of them is the most awesome toy camera called an ikimono. I am so in love with it because it's so damn cute! =) thanks sweetie =)

today was pretty fun too =) attempted to write my script at starbucks with alvin lim and dudley AGAIN. im super frustrated with my script already that i'm ready to give up that idea. i'm so tired of thinking already! after a frustrating 4 hours of camping at starbucks (although alvin is the usual funny guy, and there's dudley being encouraging and all), the respite came when i could go home and play my guitar. love.

im going to bed early for the first time in ages. i nid the rest. i feel so bloody tired from my script already and with just most work in general. i kinda wish that i was just doing a decent job or something instead. albeit it being pretty mundane, i sure would like the rest from being challenged mentally and ridding that perpetual feeling like i'm lousy. i guess i wish that whatever i was doing, i was affecting people positively and that people are gaining from my contributions.
