- Car crashes by Standfast
Today was my Singapore Flyer experience, and visiting the SAM. it was pretty good. had a nice day out, cept the rain made things really murky and my shoes got so wet and my umbrella broke. :\ darn umbrella wasnt cheap! strangely enough my last umbrella lasted me like since upper primary till now? and i figured that since i used it for so long, i should just invest in a new one which would probably be trendier or something. but it broke. hahah. damnit.

anyhow, life is rolling by. and it felt especially so when i was discussing with G the songs we listen to in secondary school (including listening to jamie yeo -me, jean denker -G, on 98.7 reciting dedications from SNAIL MAIL!). Car crashes particularly stood amongst all the music so i decided to post it up on facebook and see if anyone felt the same way. :D

anyhow, my frustration recently came from trying to make heads or tails out of the physics module i was taking. i was doing chaos theory? and damn it, it shattered my assumptions that psychology was the only 'science' that was not absolute and steadfast. apparently over in the physics department, there is a shift towards quantum theories and stuff which are mostly based on possibilities rather than perfect results.

other than that, things been going smoothly. maybe the fact that my parents seem to be hiding things from each other and me. although it feels so apparent to me, im just gonna turn a blind eye to whatever they're doing and hope that there's still a happy ending.

and then there's G's refusal to take life seriously and look for a job. :\

o well, i suffer the same malaise as well. and i guess kenny has the same sentiments.

oh yeah, i wanted to relate to Kenny what i meant by my tweet when i said 'ouch. reality hurted'. okay here goes. conversation with my mom one evening after she comes back from meetings with her boss from the UK.

Mom: I got a deal for you to get a part-time work at UK if you study at -this- uni, but you know my boss says that you don't actually have to go study masters and all that because if you have first class honours you can secure a really good job already bla bla bla. second class and third class are all failures.

Me: Oh, i'm not applying for UK already. I made a mistake, they need a second-class hons equiv.

Mom: Oh just do honours la.

Me: Well, i can't do hons.

Mom: What you mean, just go do your hons la, me and papa want u to study somemore.

Me: (ummmm... oh dear how to explain) I can't do hons at all. I don't qualify.

Mom: Appeal la! Just appeal and do what you have to do and then go get first class.

Me: ..... huh, i can't do hons at all leh. my grades don't qualify

(and in my head i was thinking about how to even explain to her that even if i do hons it doesn't mean i can get first class)

Mom: Then what can you do? (walks away)

Me: :'(
